Staying a "Momtographer"

I just wanted to announce it officially on here that I am still going be taking more time off.  I really planned on beginning to accept appointments again this summer, but I did a couple of sessions and realized that it is just not going to work yet.  I like to be able to give my clients my best, and I just can't give both my family and my clients my best right now.  These little ones need me, and I need some sleep, so I shall remain the official momtographer to my four munchkins for the time being.

I will pop in here and post photos when I get the chance.  So many to share!

My little baby (who in my plans was going to stay a baby forever) started walking this month.  The time just flies!

From many moons ago, this adorable guy was 6 months here!  Love those deep, brown eyes!

Memory Lane

From way back in 2011!  Holt's 1st birthday photos.  Gah, I miss this happy little baby.

Our family photos -- pre-Blayne of course!  Jessica from Random Photography and Graphic Design took these for us!

Jessica's family photos from that year.  We do a swap for each other!  Talk about a good-looking family.

Thanks for taking another trip down memory lane with me!

They Were So Sweet

Aww, memories of my sweet babies!  Here is Holt at 11 months.  We fondly called him "Snaggle Tooth" with that one top tooth sticking out of his cheesy grins.

And here is my beautiful girl.  This is one of my favorites of her newborn photos.  I love her little hand up by her face.

Photo-A-Day Project -- January 2013

Since I don't take enough photos of my kids (ha!ha!), I decided to start a new project this year. My goal is to capture one photo-a-day to document the year. And since I like to complicate things, I am doing one set for just Blayne, since she is the last baby, and one of all the kiddos in general.

It has been fun, and I have put together short videos of the photos. Ultimately I would like to compile them all into a book at the end of the year. Now, no judging the quality of the all the photos. I have been trying to use my "good" camera more, and this project has encouraged me to keep it out within reach. But several of the photos are with my "throw-in-my-purse" camera set to auto and using flash and a few with my Ipod.  The vidoes aren't saved with the highest resolution either.

I really think this is a wonderful project for any parent to tackle. With such busy days, it is so easy to forget the little moments and I know that I am now going to remember more of them. It is kind of nice that the pictures don't have to be ~perfect~ either (not that any of mine are), and I can edit them quickly.

This is hardly an original idea. I have seen several done on other blogs before, and if you like the idea -- do it! You don't have to start at the beginning of the year, start when you feel like it. I don't think you'll regret it! And the reason the photos are all in black & white is to hide a little of the mess that is my house with four children! That, and I like that it really focuses you on the subject of the photo without so many distracting elements. Hope these work! I've never posted videos before on here.  The original videos have music with them, which adds a lot I think.  For copyright reasons, I removed the songs from the videos though, so sorry, it is more like a slide show.

We Are Still Kicking

Yes, we are still alive here, although it has been crickets on the blog.  Too many projects going on, and this always seems to fall by the wayside.  That, and my computer is running on the slow side for the last couple months, but I haven't taken the time to do anything about that either.

Time to share some of my boys from a long time ago (Holt was 10 months).  I am making progress on my personal photos, which makes me feel a little better.  I've gotta get caught up sometime.

Toothless Joe!
