Since I don't take enough photos of my kids (ha!ha!), I decided to start a new project this year. My goal is to capture one photo-a-day to document the year. And since I like to complicate things, I am doing one set for just Blayne, since she is the last baby, and one of all the kiddos in general.
It has been fun, and I have put together short videos of the photos. Ultimately I would like to compile them all into a book at the end of the year. Now, no judging the quality of the all the photos. I have been trying to use my "good" camera more, and this project has encouraged me to keep it out within reach. But several of the photos are with my "throw-in-my-purse" camera set to auto and using flash and a few with my Ipod. The vidoes aren't saved with the highest resolution either.
I really think this is a wonderful project for any parent to tackle. With such busy days, it is so easy to forget the little moments and I know that I am now going to remember more of them. It is kind of nice that the pictures don't have to be ~perfect~ either (not that any of mine are), and I can edit them quickly.
This is hardly an original idea. I have seen several done on other blogs before, and if you like the idea -- do it! You don't have to start at the beginning of the year, start when you feel like it. I don't think you'll regret it! And the reason the photos are all in black & white is to hide a little of the mess that is my house with four children! That, and I like that it really focuses you on the subject of the photo without so many distracting elements. Hope these work! I've never posted videos before on here. The original videos have music with them, which adds a lot I think. For copyright reasons, I removed the songs from the videos though, so sorry, it is more like a slide show.
